60 degrees and sunshine greeted us upon touching down in Las Vegas. To the locals, it was clearly winter as evident by folks wearing winter coats. Having just landed from Northern Vermont via Montreal, where it was a whooping 14 degrees (Fahrenheit), we chuckled a little bit. Just like when we were living back in Los Angeles and would move inside at Cafe P because it was just too darn “cold” outside. Perspective is everything.
We were in town for the annual WPPI Convention (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International).
It so awesome to not only escape the snow & cold once a year but to reconnect with wedding photographers from across the globe, to attend workshops and seminars, to check out new vendors & products at the Expo and … to enjoy everything Vegas has to offer!
I hit the ground running … Tuesday saw me at the Convention Center for the better part of 12 hours (Damian was awesome enough to grab us some In’n’Out Burgers for lunch – double-double protein style!), taking in everything humanly possible.
One of my favorite classes was with famed Melbourne wedding photographer Yervant – who demonstrated exactly how to put anybody at ease in front of the camera. Note that our beautiful “bride” is not a model but a high school junior … and Carly did an amazing job, despite facing roughly 30 photographers. Thank you for being such a great sport!!!!
This was such a fun and epic class and I’m more excited than ever about the upcoming wedding season!!!
