Daisy Mae

FILED IN: kat's world

Shortly after we got married, I met the love of my life. And Damian met his. Her name at the time: Foxy Brown. Little Foxy Brown was part of an accidental backyard litter and waddled into our lives at Pricilla’s Gourmet Cafe in Burbank when she was just 8 weeks old. She became Daisy Mae that instant and we became a family.

It’s hard to believe she turns 14 today. Apart from the grey fuzz and some hip issues, she’s as feisty as always, still wrestling with her siblings, still insisting on her own pillow in bed and still kicking me in the back in her dreams. Truth be told – I don’t think I could sleep without her feet in my back. She also gives the best kisses.

So far, she’s defied all odds; she has beaten cancer, mange and every allergy known (or unknown) to mankind, raised three kitten boys, one puppy, adopted a homeless dog and supervised us raising (or attempting to raise) chickens & ducklings. Our vet calls her one of his “super seniors” (Jake, her adopted brother, being the other one). To say we love her would be an understatement.

To me, she’s Mommy’s Muffin Pie. Muffin – we love you to pieces! We love you to the moon & back and beyond! Happy Birthday and many, many more years!!!
