2018 was quite the year. It had the best of moments and it had the absolute lowest of low moments. We traveled SO.Much this year and ate our way across Las Vegas, Joshua Tree, San Francisco, Monterey, Napa Valley, Yosemite, Sequoia, Hamburg, Wiesmoor, Maine, Boston, South Beach and Miami. We hiked hundreds of miles and took a million of goofy selfies. We went horseback riding for the first time, and I picked up paddle boarding and Yoga along the way. I also got to see Bon Jovi again and my parents visited us from Germany.
We lost the love of our lives, Daisy Mae, after over 14 years together.
We also photographed the most incredible weddings this year. From same sex weddings to small, estate weddings, intimate elopements to large Vermont barn weddings, 2018 had it all. Thank you so much for allowing me to forget about my world for a while and spend those weekends with your families and friends, surrounded by so much laughter, lights, love and hope for new beginnings. It is truly humbling and I can’t thank you enough.
To distract ourselves, we dove headfirst into gardening – and when I say “gardening”, I mean a massive installation of raised beds that covered hundreds of square feet. I don’t think small. 🙂 As a result, we drowned in tomatoes and canned/froze/cooked like campions. Finally, we rang out the new year by Damian undergoing complete shoulder replacement surgery and me eating tons of cake & donuts. It helps when you have friends in high places who can whip up an emergency cake with little to no notice. Thank you, Nicole!
Here’s to 2019 – whatever it may bring, I know we’re in this together.
