25 years of Bon Jovi & giving back!

FILED IN: kat's world

In 1988, I went to see my very first concert – Bon Jovi at Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany. I saved up all my pocket money, bought the ticket, told my parents I was going to spend the night at my grandmom’s and set off to see an amazing show! Did I mention amazing??? First row and Jon Bon Jovi actually touched my hand [which I subsequently didn’t wash for the next 3 weeks or so].

I took a taxi home and was greeted at home by two furious [and very, very pale] grandparents who raced to the phone to call off the manhunt for the missing teenager. I was grounded for about a year.

25 [gulp!] years later, I went to see Bon Jovi again. Bell Center, Montreal, Canada and the show was amazing once again!

Only this time around, I was picked up by my husband and greeted by two enthusiastic dogs upon coming home.

So it is not exactly a secret that I adore Jon Bon Jovi. And when I found out about the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, I had this idea of making a 50 Dollar donation to charity for every wedding booked this year.

How does it work exactly? I selected three charities that are extremely close to my heart and each couple that books a wedding with me will select the charity they want the donation to go to. So you get an amazing wedding photographer [me!], I get to work with an amazing couple [you!] and money goes to charity. Win! Win! Win!

I’m incredibly excited to be supporting the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.

Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness and to combat issues that force families and individuals into economic despair, to empower communities, to provide food & shelter … things that most of us take for granted. And they start at home, community by community. I absolutely believe that each and every single one of us can make a difference in our community and that together, we actually can make a difference.

Happy Wednesday!!!
