Dayna and Brad picked the perfect spot for their outdoor Vermont wedding. Over the course of a summer, they carefully restored the old, rustic barn to its former glory. They picked amazing decor, had phenomenal food, an incredible cake buffet, and the floral design was out of this world. It made for a wedding that the likes of Style me Pretty and Martha Stewart Weddings love featuring. And yet, it was about none of that.
Dayna & Brad’s wedding was about the people they love most in their lives. Their wedding was about friendship, love, and not having a care in the world. Rain and a muddy-ish cocktail hour? Didn’t matter. Nothing mattered but their relationship and the people around them.
I love this photo of Dayna and her daughter so very much. The reception was winding down, Dayna’s wedding dress was dirty, dragging across the floor, it had gotten chilly and yet … there they were, on the dance floor, dancing their hearts out.
After all, that’s what weddings are all about. It’s about the people. The memories. Not the dress. Not the decor. Not the color of the napkins. It’s what you felt that counts.
